Family, this is your favorite queer radio personality Anna DeShawn with our queer news for today. I do want to say that I’ve missed you the last couple of days. The E3 Radio & Qube teams are traveling to podcasting conferences this weekend. I’m currently in Orlando for the Podfest conference and then I’m headed to Blk Pod Fest in Atlanta. For Podfest, I’m sitting on a panel, and I’m moderating another panel, and leading a talk called “Where do the BIPOC & QTPOC Podcasters Reside”. All three are happening tomorrow so send up some good energy for me and the team. Then I travel to Atlanta for Blk Pod Fest where I will be speaking on Crowdfudning and provide strategies on how to raise money. This is a big weekend for us to spread the news about The Qube. We’ve been working on the Qube for three years now and its really coming together. We are the one and only curated app where you can discover the best BIPOC & QTPOC music & podcasts. We are still in development and are looking to drop our beta version to the public in September. So, this is why I need a producer family. I need support with the podcast so I can be consistent here and still bring you the news. We will get there soon especially with your help, so if you enjoy what you hear please consider joining the QCrew. The QCrew is our monthly membership program we just started to help us grow the podcast. If you’re down with it check the link in the show notes for more information. Since I am traveling and have a strict morning deadline to be at our booth I’m sharing one big story and then I’ll be back in full swing on Tuesday. Check me out on TikTok & IG to follow our travels and fun and shenanigans. Now for that story.

Laverne Cox becomes the first trans woman to have her own Barbie Doll and its really well done. Mattel worked with Laverne on the dolls’ style and likeness. It’s dropping on Tuesday at Amazon, Walmart, Target and MattelCreations.com for $39.99. This is part of a larger special edition Barbie collection which also includes Queen Elizebeth II & Lucille Ball. Lisa McKnight, executive vice president and global head of Barbie and Dolls at Mattel said, “We are proud to highlight the importance of inclusion and acceptance at every age and to recognize Laverne’s significant impact on culture with a Tribute Collection Barbie”

The word for today is I love you. I love ya’ll so much for continuing to support this work and what we’re building with E3 Radio & The Qube. I’m proud to say we are up to 26 subscribers and I believe we’ll be able to grow really soon. Take good care of yourself. Till Tuesday, peace.
